multiCAM Systems announced today that its MULTICAM STUDIO all-in-one solution for live video production captured the 18th annual Reggae Sun Ska festival, streaming it live on YouTube to viewers around the world.
Running from 7–9 August at the Bordeaux University campus in France, the event pays tribute each year to Reggae music and culture. The 2015 version featured various themes, activities and conferences focusing on roots reggae, dancehall and dub genres and welcomed bands from countries including Jamaica, France, the United States and the United Kingdom.
During this year’s edition, MULTICAM STUDIO produced and streamed live videos of concerts taking place on the two main stages of the festival. The configuration multiCAM used for filming the 2015 Reggae Sun Ska included three Sony H900 PZT cameras, placed on 1.5 meter-long sliders; two cameramen located on stage; and one cameraman managing the distant focal length shots of the performers. The live production was also displayed on a giant LED screen at the event.
MULTICAM STUDIO doubles the number of video sources and needs only one operator, thus greatly reducing production costs. It also allows for the remote control of the PTZ cameras and sliders to ensure dynamic live mixing.
In addition to live concert coverage, a second MULTICAM STUDIO, fitted with three PZT Lumens cameras, ensured the live (and VOD) coverage of related press conferences, interviews, live flux captures of principle performances, as well as video documentaries created by on-site editors. The system incorporated the use of its Medialist Manager, Titler and Composer media modules to carry out the coverage.
